Honest review, as always...

Natural Lip Plumper that works | CODE LIP lip intense plumper and SSL lip liner review

I wasn't blessed with naturally full lips - they are a bit 'flat', a bit 'wonky' and as I've got older they have definitely lost colour and volume. I'm always dehydrated due to breastfeeding and simply not drinking enough, and although I would LOVE a permanently fuller lip - surgery and fillers just aren't for me. I'm a natural girl at heart, I love a natural makeup look and I love to use organic and vegan skincare where possible. I also love a good non- surgical treatment option or a decent beauty tool to help me make the most of the products I use! I need a natural lip plumper that works without the need for surgery.

Lip Intense Plumper:

This lip plumping treatment is cruelty free and vegan. It includes hyaluronic acid and Hilurlip to redefine the contours of the lip and give a fuller lip over time. This is a nude rose colour which is supposed to compliment every skin tone, but if you prefer a different shade you can leave it to dry and then apply your usual colour over the top.

Initially I was feeling a little dubious about the colour when I took the applicator out of the pot as it looked much brighter than I was expecting, but once I applied it the colour was actually very nice and did look natural. The tingling sensation started to work after a few minutes and although it didn't sting or feel uncomfortable, you couldn't ignore the sensation! It was a little bit like pins and needles but without the pain. You could literally feel the blood flowing in your lips and even on the first application ( it is supposed to increase results the more you use it) I could notice a natural difference. Here is a before and after photo of me wearing JUST the lip plumper without the lip liner. The 'after' photo was taken after 5 minutes...

CODE SSL Lip Liner:

I was later sent some guidance about the SSL lip liner also being a natural lip plumper, and used in conjunction with the lip intense plumper it can give more effective results.

I have to say, I agree!

I do have a wonky top lip, so when I use lip liner, I have to use this to try and correct that (naturally) so that I don't draw attention to it. I used the lip liner first to correct and outline my lip shade, before using vertical lines at the corners and the middle in places to add shading to maximise the plumping effect. The colour again is a natural rose shade. Here is application 1 and additional application 2 of the lip intense plumper over the top of the lip liner:

Another great thing about the lip liner is that it is self sharpening! You just twist the lid on until it clicks and the end of the liner stays sharp...

Verdict - is this really the best natural lip plumper?

First of all, it is definitely natural looking. You aren't going to look at me and wonder if I've had surgery, and that's okay. That's the look I'm going for and if you are too then I definitely recommend giving this a try. The more lip liner and lip plumper you use the greater the effect, but then I also think the colour is then stronger and more 'pink'. I happen to like the colour with my skin tone and eye colour, but it isn't for everyone...although you can apply your own lip colour over the top so perhaps this is irrelevant feedback??

The only downside, is the same downside I have with ANY lip product I use - I can't give my kids their daily quota of a million kisses without transferring some over...and with the tingle of this, you probably don't want to do that with a very small child. I'm definitely keeping this for a night out or 'child free' time though!
