Some of these products are items that I have tried and reviewed and can recommend as a great birthday gift. There are a few items that didn't make the final cut, because I do only recommend spending your hard earned cash on things that are actually worth it! There are also a couple of products that I would love, don't yet have, but think they are a great idea for this guide list. Sacet - Marque small hoop chain bracelet
Jewellery! No true birthday gift list would be complete without it, and it makes for a perfect start in terms of things you may not necessarily 'need' but are definitely worth giving or receiving. Sacet believe that, "buying designer jewellery should be a beautiful experience. It should make you look good, do good and feel good". Available to buy online, this 18k rose gold, delicate, twisted hoop sits on a fine chain, with a single diamond. It is also available in silver and gold, but I love the colour tone of this rose gold version - it adds a bit of warmth without being too yellow and really works with the current popular colour palette of pinks, greys and copper tones.
The thing I love the most about this design however, is that it reminds me of a family holiday when I was 6 years old. I remember seeing a young woman wearing a bangle which had a pearl on one end and a hoop on the other - the pearl fitted inside the edge of the hoop by way of a fasten, looking a lot like the design above. Now, my wrists are too small to pull off a bangle or anything too chunky so this delicate design is perfect for me, and it comes in a small size so that it isn't too loose. The one above being 6 inches long, a perfect fit.
You may also be interested to know that Sacet use ethically sourced materials. Their pieces are crafted using 100% recycled silver, they use ethically polished diamonds and gemstones and the packaging is made using eco-friendly materials.
The product was well packaged, including a soft, material gift bag and some interesting info of the faces behind the brand.
They don't just sell bracelets of course, there are so many beautiful pieces to choose from, but if you do fancy this particular product it currently retails at £49. Have a look at their website for their fair pay policy and your purchase impact.
Olverum oil
This isn't just a birthday gift of a bottle of bath oil - it's the gift of every blissful bathing experience thereafter and every peaceful night afterwards. It says, "here, take some time out. Relax. You deserve a rest."
Olverum is a unique and highly concentrated, therapeutic bath oil which contains 10 pure essential oils, carefully blended to work synergistically. As soon as I opened the box I was greeted with an amazing, aromatic scent which I considered applying straight to my skin just so that I could keep smelling the amazing smell! It helped me to feel much more chilled out and is also hailed as a great way to ease aching or sore muscles and is the perfect soothing antidote to a cold or flu.
The Sunday Times Style Magazine described this oil as 'bath nirvana' and now I know why!
Olverum recently relaunched under new British ownership, for many years it survived by word of mouth - a cult product known in the UK to only a small number of passionate devotees. It has now been re-packaged, butt still retains the same formulation loved for over eight decades.
Just add one teaspoon of oil to a drawn bath, step in, and enjoy!
The 125ml costs £29.00 enough for 25 baths,
The 250ml costs £53 enough for 50 baths.
The travel set costs £19 enough for 9 baths.
Their main stockists are Liberty, Conran, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick.
If you are sat reading this on a laptop or a desktop, you must head over to the Olverum website and run your mouse tracker over the interactive image on the main page - I've just lost a good 10 minutes de-stressing with the help of this, and I'm leaving a tab open on my laptop for future moments!
Bloom and Glow face oil from Angela Langford
I have used this face oil every night before bed. It can be used in the morning too but with the recent hot weather and the fact that I am very careful about applying an spf to my skin every day I decided against daytime use.
I love face oils because they are nourishing and hydrating in the winter when our skin is subjected to more harsh weather conditions and central heating, but they are also perfect for every day use to balance out the skin. I actually have a very oily T zone but I use face oils because they help to level out the oil production and I find my skin is better for it. I love how smooth my skin feels after using this product and the smallest amount goes a really long way. The dropper dispenser was really appreciated as none of the product went to waste trying to get it out of the bottle.
Angela Langford's Bloom & Glow face oil is wonderfully natural and organic, made from Chia seed & sea buckthorn - they are blended together to deliver high levels of essential fatty acids, vitamins & antioxidants - it improves skin’s elasticity, calms inflammation & restores radiance. The face oil is Vegan, cruelty free, organic, natural - and hand made in Somerset. Bloom & Glow was awarded first place in the latest Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) blind trials – and with it GHI’s coveted Approved Endorsement.
Angela says... "Perfect for sensitive, easily inflamed or generally out of kilter. This is your recipe gorgeous, glowing, radiant skin." - I have to agree.
Currently retails at £20.50 for a 15ml bottle.
Angela was a MasterChef finalist so it wont surprise you to hear that alongside this gorgeous face oil, I also received some yummy recipe cards. There are more over on her blog on her website if you fancy matching the goodness you put onto your skin with the food your put into your body.
Goals journal
It It has a smooth genuine leather cover and comes in its own gift box, wrapped in tissue and the 260 plain cream laid paper pages are blank - just the way I like it, so you can add to it and use it however you like without being constrained by grids, lines or boxes. Need to write down some business ideas? Perhaps a shopping list reminder, a diary or just random thoughts? This is perfect.
Writing down your goals, dreams and ambitions is a simple way to take control and help you achieve your dream life. If you know somebody who’s recently gone through a big change or is down on their luck this journal makes a heartfelt, and potentially life-changing, gift.

Uber Sonic Toothbrush subscription
This is a great birthday present for a close relative or partner to give as it works on a subscription basis. Every other month a refill kit is posted out, in line with dentist recommendations. It really is the gift that keeps on giving and a worthwhile investment as we only get one set of adult teeth so they deserve our care and attention.
Uber Sonic provide the world’s first aluminum toothbrush, with a sleek, sexy and sassy edge to it becoming known and loved for its sophisticated daily hygiene routine.
They also have a whitening kit which they send out for free to subscribers - another way to knock a few years off as teeth become discoloured as we age.
The feel of this product is likened to an iPhone 7 - the Uber Sonic is made from brushed aluminium with a sonic high speed movement of 35000 vibrations per minute, ensuring plaque and bacteria is removed seven times more efficiently than when using a regular toothbrush. The brush heads come with protection travel cases and the toothbrush charges is no time!
The only thing I would personally change about this product is the ability to switch the charging cable to a 2 pin plug which would fit into a shaving unit within the bathroom. The current 3 pin plug means that the stand and charging base needs to be kept outside of the bathroom. No real issue as it looks so stylish it would fit in well, but I tend to just leave the toothbrush on its own next to the sink for ease!
And finally....a couple from my lust list...
A silk pillowcase
Sleeping against the wrong type of fabric can have consequences for both hair and skin. We have cotton bedding, but cotton is particularly absorptive and so it could strip the hair and skin of its natural moisture and oils. My hair is particularly frizzy, so anything that claims to help with this is worth a try in my opinion, and it is supposed to be especially beneficial for curly hair. I'm also at the age now where the wrinkles are really creeping in and waking up with 'sleep wrinkles' from my pillow isn't a great look! Anything to fight the signs of ageing naturally.
I have included a link to three different types I have looked into on Amazon (above), including one with a cotton underside if you like the idea of sleeping on silk but don't want your entire pillowcase to be made from it.
If anyone has tried a silk pillowcase themselves I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Glass teapot
Perfect for a hygge moment, this glass teapot with transparent infuser makes for a calm and satisfying cup of tea. The glass chamber ( as opposed to a copper infuser) lends itself really well to loose tea, but is especially wonderful to watch when used with tea flowers which open up as they infuse. I've got to admit, part of me wants to do this just so that I can sit and watch the changes with Arthur, who loves fruit tea, and use it for a shared moment of calm.
I'm pretty sure I'll be searching for a plastic one next to use in our water tray play at home!
